Apps and markets
Why the same package in two countries counts as two apps, and what that changes.
A store and a language, together
An app in ersASO is a package plus a store plus a language. The same package tracked in two markets is two apps, each with its own keyword pool, its own competitors and its own rankings.
This is not bookkeeping. Play indexes the listing per language and returns different results per store, so a keyword that ranks third in one market may not exist in another. Merging them would average away the only thing worth measuring.
Badges show the store alone (TR) when the language is that store's default, and both (DE · tr) when it is not.
Own apps and competitor apps
Own apps have a keyword pool, an ASO score and a metadata page. Competitor apps are attached to one of your own apps and are there to be compared against; they have no pool of their own.
The same competitor can be attached to several of your apps. Removing it from the last one drops it entirely.
Removing a competitor asks first, and the confirmation says what goes with it: its rank comparison and keyword candidates disappear from this app, and if none of your other apps tracks it, its older rank history is deleted overnight and positions 11 to 50 are no longer recorded for it.
Localizations side by side
The Metadata page has a collapsed Localizations card: every store and language you have added for the same package in one table — title, description lengths, how many of that listing's tracked keywords appear in its title or short description (matched by root in that listing's own language), and estimated visibility.
When Play has no translation for a language, it serves the default listing. A row whose short and long descriptions are identical to a row in another language is marked "same text as" — that language has not been translated. Two stores that share a language, such as the US and the UK in English, are expected to carry the same text and are not flagged.
The card shows only the stores and languages you have added; it makes no Play request and does not guess about languages you have not added. To compare a new one, add the same package again with that store or listing language.
Removing an app
Removing stops tracking and deletes this workspace's data for that app: the keyword pool, the discoveries and the competitor links. The confirmation says how many of each before you commit.
Rank history is kept, so re-adding the app brings the chart back — but the pool does not come back.
Measure instead of guessing
ersASO harvests, scores and tracks keywords in your app's own language, every night. Free plan, no card.
